Performance Health
Whether they are involved in the world of arts or sports, PERFORMERS have unusual nutritional needs. Always asking their bodies to produce more and better, they walk a narrow path between maximum performance and burn-out. The shift from positive enthusiasm to damaging obsession can happen almost without warning, leading to the sudden onset of injury, illness and depression.
This situation is made more volatile when bad eating habits are superimposed. Whether it is the ballet dancer who lives on coffee and chocolate, the athlete who mistakenly consumes an unbalanced diet, or the opera singer who believes that all she needs to do is to stand and sing - all these performers are accidents waiting to happen. Unusual demands on the body, mind or voice need unusually good nutrition; however, there is often little time or energy left for feeding yourself properly when you have been working full out all day, and stress itself makes its own demands on the body.
Whilst superlative food will always be the prime objective, nutritional supplements can often help to fill the gaps, and prevent the borderline deficiencies which can mean the difference between success and failure. Recovery speed after injury can be enhanced, and vulnerable tissues can be strengthened. Dancers and athletes need to protect their joints and bones; singers and actors must soothe their throats and maintain their larynx and vocal chords. All require efficient immune systems - how many individuals practise or rehearse for weeks to attain a peak performance, only to fall prey to a sore throat or cold at the last minute?
Even if you are free of pain and problems at present, you still need to consider maintenance and protection - too many careers flounder due to illness or degenerative problems. Invest in optimum nutrition now, and have a longer, more comfortable career, and an active painfree retirement - it will be here amazingly quickly, and you will still need 4 fully-functioning limbs, and an undamaged voice.

Muscles,Bones,Joints
PERFORMANCE becomes more physically extreme with each passing year. Dancers have come to expect being pushed to the limit every working day, but at least they have been trained to it! Actors find themselves in ever more uncomfortable positions as directors push the limits of physical drama ... but whoever imagined that opera singers would be expected to sing whilst hanging almost upside down from a window 2 metres up! It is never too early or too late to start looking after your muscles, joints and bones - you never know how many visits to the osteopath it might save you ...

Voices, Immunity
VOICES are often likened to delicate children ... they need cosseting, warmth, protection from the environment, training, discipline and patience. Here you will find natural products which may help you maintain your valuable vocal apparatus in optimum condition, and reduce the chances of infection.
Not only singers and actors are vulnerable, of course - fatigue, stress, overcrowded and underheated theatres and studios can play havoc with the strongest of immune systems ...

Stress, Relaxation
STRESS, it is said, is the only food that some artists need! This certainly seems to be true of many dancers, but it really does need more than a cigarette, a coffee and a chocolate bar to give you the strength to last past your 30th birthday. High levels of stress are found in every area of the Arts, but the physical toll can be very high, leading to frustratingly short careers and painful retirement. Perhaps you really enjoy the buzz - but make sure you avoid joining the ranks of the prematurely burnt out!
